What Lead Manager is
Lead Manager is the sales module in the IPDigital portfolio, built for B2B teams that win through a relatively small number of high-value enterprise opportunities. Each opportunity carries a substantial customer story: who is involved, what they need, which evaluations are under way, what remains unresolved and who should act next. Lead Manager brings that story together in one place.
Salespeople and managers work through Jeeves, the digital workplace concierge. They ask to review a deal, understand the buying group, record a meeting or bring in a colleague, then use forms, tables and interactive graphs inside the conversation to do the precise work.
The value: better-prepared customer conversations, a clear view of parallel progress on every deal, the right people involved in the next action, and forecasts and reports that explain what changed.
Who it is for
The best fit is defined by how a team sells, not by industry or headcount. Lead Manager is a strong candidate when winning depends more on understanding and coordinating each opportunity than on processing a large number of leads.
| A strong fit when… | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Each opportunity has significant value | Customer context and careful follow-through justify more attention per deal. |
| Buying decisions involve several people | The team needs to understand influence, responsibilities and stakeholder coverage. |
| Several evaluations happen together | Technical, commercial, procurement and legal work may overlap. |
| Sales depends on other departments | Specialists and support colleagues need clear requests without unrestricted pipeline access. |
| Managers investigate individual deals | Flexible questions and detailed context complement repeatable pipeline reports. |
Typical users are account executives, account managers and sales leaders, together with the specialists and administrative colleagues who support them, in sectors such as enterprise technology, professional services or industrial solutions.
How it works
Headless by design, with Jeeves as the workspace
Lead Manager holds sales records and business rules separately from the interface, and Jeeves provides the working experience. The experience can evolve without disturbing the sales foundation, and dedicated views can be added if usage shows they are needed. One coherent workspace means no second application to navigate, train on or maintain.
Ask to find it. Click to work on it.
Ask for a customer’s opportunities, click the right deal, inspect its labels and history, then open a follow-up form, choose the assignee and due date, and submit. Conversation starts the task; direct interaction carries it forward. The selected deal stays as context, so there is no need to keep repeating which record you mean.
Technical Evaluation + Commercial Negotiation + Procurement Review + Legal Review can all apply to the same deal at once, with a priority label such as Hot for context. A technical evaluation can finish while legal review continues. For pipeline totals, each deal is counted once, so overlapping labels never inflate the numbers. Labels are defined by each team, not a fixed catalogue.
What it does
Company details such as name, website domain, industry, size and revenue range, and contact details such as job title, email and phone. The team finds and maintains them through Jeeves, so customer knowledge does not live in one person’s memory.
One consolidated view of the deal’s key information, products, labels, activities, documents and stakeholders. Reps prepare for meetings, managers coach with context, and colleagues take over with less reconstruction.
An opportunity can carry several labels at once, such as Technical Evaluation, Commercial Negotiation, Procurement Review and Legal Review, plus priority labels such as Hot. Update each workstream as it moves without implying the whole deal has moved.
Every label applied or removed is recorded with who changed it, when and why. Alongside activity history, managers see how the deal reached this point rather than just today’s labels.
Link contacts to each opportunity with their deal role (sponsor, evaluator, procurement contact) and RACI responsibility. The same person can play a different role on another deal.
Select products with quantities and agreed prices. Authorised users manage catalogue and ownership changes, while closing, archiving and restoring opportunities stay explicit lifecycle actions.
RFPs, proposals, quotes, cost sheets, contracts and other material kept on the opportunity. Uploading the same file under the same type creates the next numbered revision, with uploader, date and notes, while earlier versions stay identifiable.
Visibility follows access rules for the opportunity and document type, so an internal cost sheet can be treated differently from a proposal. Owners’ private notes stay private. Files pass processing and security checks before they become available.
Record calls, meetings, emails, notes and tasks against the opportunity, with owner, status and due date. Dates follow each user’s timezone.
Ask Jeeves to assign a task to an eligible colleague outside Sales. It stays linked to the sales activity, with email threads, reminders and completion updates, and the colleague does not need access to the pipeline to do it.
AI combines a researched company profile with the deal’s recorded interactions, labels, history, timing and commercial details to assess probability of closing, with its reasoning. It sits alongside the salesperson’s own estimate.
Ask sales questions in plain language and see tables and interactive graphs. Save useful reports, rerun them on current data, or schedule email delivery with an Excel attachment, an optional chart and an AI summary of what changed.
Authorised users describe rules such as “Alice cannot see North America leads.” Each policy is reviewed, checked against examples and approved by a separate reviewer before it takes effect, and can be revised or retired as territories change.
Know who is involved, and in what capacity
| RACI | Meaning | Buying-group example |
|---|---|---|
| R · Responsible | Does or coordinates the work | Customer evaluation lead organising the technical assessment |
| A · Accountable | Owns the agreed outcome or decision | Named customer sponsor accountable for the evaluation outcome |
| C · Consulted | Provides input before decisions | Security specialist or legal adviser contributing requirements |
| I · Informed | Receives progress updates | Stakeholder who needs visibility but is not directing the evaluation |
Forecasts that weigh the evidence
Lead Manager keeps the commercial deal value separate from the expected contribution. A 100,000 deal that AI assesses at 40% probability contributes 40,000 to the weighted forecast; the quote stays at 100,000. Managers can see why confidence rose or fell, rather than accepting a manually chosen percentage without explanation. Company profiles are retained and reused, so a reassessment does not need a fresh web search every time.
Reports that reach you
Ask questions such as “Show pipeline value by salesperson” or “Which opportunities have stayed in the same status longest?” Save the report that answers the question, and schedule it for a weekly management email with an AI executive summary of trends, notable changes and anomalies since earlier runs. Scheduled reports always check current access rules.
What sets Lead Manager apart
Built for the depth of the deal, not the volume of leads. Lead Manager is designed for teams managing a smaller portfolio of high-value enterprise opportunities, where understanding the customer and coordinating several decision-makers matters more than processing lead queues.
A pipeline that reflects how enterprise deals really move. Instead of forcing one stage as the whole truth, several working labels show which evaluations are progressing and which are blocked. The review question becomes: which parts of this deal are moving, and what is stuck?
Ask to find it, click to work on it. The work starts with a question in Jeeves. Tables, cards, forms, date pickers and graphs inside the conversation carry it forward, so nobody types every field in chat or learns a separate sales application.
Forecasts that read the customer, not just the calendar. Ninety days of silence from an AI start-up may be a warning sign; the same silence from a bank in a long procurement cycle may be normal. AI judges deal health in the context of the prospect and explains its reasoning, giving managers a second view to challenge optimism.
The whole team, without opening the pipeline. Specialists and support colleagues receive linked, trackable requests through Jeeves, for example printing visiting cards in Spanish for a customer visit, without access to unrelated customer or pipeline information.
Access rules the business can read. Territory and role boundaries are written in plain English, reviewed and approved before activation, so the business can confirm that access matches intent.
Part of a connected Jeeves workspace
Lead Manager is one capability in the broader IPDigital portfolio. Where an organisation enables them, salespeople can use other Jeeves services in the same workspace while preparing for a customer visit:
| Service | What a salesperson can ask for |
|---|---|
| SAM | Software licences, cloud resources, and access to LLM services or token allocations for approved work. |
| HAM | Equipment requests and help with assigned hardware, including temporary loaners. |
| Travel desk | Help arranging business travel and progressing travel requests for customer visits. |
| Support tickets | Raise a support request and follow its progress when something is preventing work. |
| HR services | Find HR guidance and access the employee requests the organisation enables. |
Each service keeps its own permissions, approvals and fulfilment. General Jeeves access never confers access to Lead Manager or to unrelated sales or employee information.
Measuring the value
Set a baseline and compare the same measures after adoption:
Time spent preparing for deal and pipeline reviews
Completeness of customer and stakeholder information
Follow-up completion and cross-team request turnaround
Administrative effort per opportunity and regular use by the team
Forecast accuracy over time, compared with salesperson-only estimates
Lead Manager is designed for complex enterprise selling, not high-volume lead processing or mass outreach. Version tracking records revisions; it does not compare documents, collect signatures or approve content. AI forecasts reduce reliance on subjective optimism but do not guarantee accuracy. RACI records responsibility and is not an access permission or approval workflow. Benefits are expectations to measure. Examples are illustrative.
